The Killing of 150 Konik Horses in the Oostvaardersplassen

As you may remember, since 2018, we have been implicated in the actions against the Killing field of the nature reserve of the Oostvaardersplassen, the Netherlands. Today, Friday the 13th of november 2020, we sent another letter in dutch to the head of the Province of Flevoland regarding the killing of around 150 Konik horses. The killing of heck cattle will be next. Below you'll find the english translation of this letter

"Dear Sir, Today it's Friday the thirteenth, the unlucky day. Konik horses are being slaughtered under your responsibility today.
About a year ago (namely December 3, 2019) we sent you a letter, to which we would like to receive an answer as we still do not have all the documents related to our FOI request. In that letter we plead for birth control / contraception as the ONLY solution for the animals in the Oostvaardersplassen (OVP) and as THE opportunity for Flevoland to play a pioneering role in this. I say opportunity here, because the whole world is watching what is happening in the Oostvaardersplassen. You and your board members have missed that opportunity.
"If there are too many people, we do not shoot them. Then we also do birth control." says vet Peter Klaver in an interview to the NOS (Nederlandse Omroep Stichting - Dutch Broadcaster Association) about an experiment that will take place in the province of Zeeland to regulate a group of wild fallow deer there. If all goes well, the opportunity to make a world first lies with the province of Zeeland. Not with Flevoland.
The still so young Nieuwland National Park, two years old on the first of October, is already living with a terrible blot on its reputation. First the hunting and death of thousands of red deer and now this: the slaughter of young, even pregnant horses. The ambitions for this park seemed great, but can you live with the sad reality that people will not accept this harsh, unscrupulous policy? It has been said so many times. Shooting is not the solution in the long run. The population of deer, horses and cattle will continue to grow.
We sincerely hope that you and the members of GS and PS will sit down together again to drastically change this surreal mismanagement.

"D'abord, nous créons nous-mêmes un problème et puis nous n'envisageons qu'une seule solution: le fusil. Il faut en finir avec ça." Il a bien raison. Si tout se passe bien, l'occasion de faire la une des journaux reviendra à la province du Zeeland et non au Flevoland. 

Le Parc National de Nieuwland qui, si jeune, fête ses deux ans le premier octobre, a déjà très mauvaise réputation. D'abord la chasse et la mise à mort de milliers de cerfs rouges et maintenant ceci: l'abattage de jeunes chevaux, même de pouliches gestantes. Ce parc semblait avoir des ambitions louables. Etes-vous capable de confronter la triste réalité que le peuple n'acceptera pas cette politique cruelle, barbare et sans scrupules? On l'a dit tant de fois, fusiller n'est pas une solution à long terme. La population de cerfs, de chevaux et de bétail continuera à croître. 

Nous gardons l'espoir sincère que vous et les membres des GS et des PS saurez vous réunir pour mettre un terme à cette mauvaise gestion surréaliste.
